Saba Daishi Honbo Yasaka-ji is the fourth temple of the Shikoku Betsugaku pilgrimage. Located in the middle of the challenging Yasaka-Hachihama area, one of the difficult spots of the Shikoku 88-temple pilgrimage, it is said that if you abstain from eating mackerel for three years and pray (Saba Tachi three-year prayer), your wishes will come true, illnesses will be cured, and you will find happiness. Over time, people have come to call it Saba Daishi.
